Just in terms of dealing with people who might be in an episode, having delusions in particular. And delusions are fixed firm beliefs not based in reality and a delusion is so real. That is, as I said, no, this is a light, this is… The grass is green. There’s no negotiation with a delusion. So the point was… The point is with somebody in a delusion is to not escalate the situation by trying to argue with them. Just don’t try and argue because I think that’s a really bad thing to do. And as I said, make people safe, make yourself safe, you know, and just try and de-escalate it in the best way you can. I think not being judgmental is important too.
And don’t laugh at the person, you know, if you’d laugh at the person behind their back. They’re going to know and you know, we know what people do to us even though we’re crazy at the time. We still know how people are treating us. We know when people are unkind and we know when people are kind. We hold those thoughts and even though we might seem out of it, but we still take in stuff. And I remember the kindnesses people have given to me and I remember the unkindness things… Unkind things people have done, too. And that really is important because you hold those memories.
I am much more confident in my ability to de-escalate a confrontation. Thank you.
